Opmerkingen

Hausmanning is a small village in Upper Austria, and this 20 Heller note is a product of the Notgeld emergency that swept through Austrian municipalities in 1920 — a period when chronic coin shortages, wartime disruption, and the collapse of the Habsburg monetary system forced even the smallest parishes and townships to print their own small-denomination scrip. Gemeinde Hausmanning's issues are among the more obscure in the Jaksch catalog, reflecting a genuinely local circulation that rarely extended beyond the immediate community.

Johann Dorninger's signature as issuing authority identifies him as the municipal official responsible — likely the Bürgermeister — lending the note its legal standing under the loosely regulated Notgeld framework of the early Austrian Republic.
