20 Halier Pattern

By 1991, Czechoslovakia was deep in the economic restructuring that followed the Velvet Revolution, and monetary reform was a priority. This pattern was part of the evaluation process for a new halier coinage series — proposals were struck in multiple compositions before final specifications were settled. Nickel brass was among the candidates tested for durability and vending machine compatibility, a practical concern driving denominations at this level.

The federation itself dissolved on January 1, 1993, meaning coins bearing Czechoslovak authority had a hard expiry date baked in from the moment reform began.
