| Reverse description | Printed in violet and olive, the reverse bears at right a vignette of the Schreierstoren (Schreiers Tower) and the Sint-Nicolaaskerk (St. Nicolaas Church) in Amsterdam, rendered in fine intaglio engraving. The date of issue, varying between 9 July 1939 and 19 March 1941, is printed in the lower field; on the P#55 variety, the date '19 maart 1941' appears as an overprint superimposed on the variable date. The reverse carries a lengthy statutory anti-counterfeiting warning text in Dutch. |
