Obverse description Bare-headed bust of King Francesco I in right profile, rendered in a neoclassical style with naturalistic curly hair. The legend FRANCISCVS I. encircles the left and bottom of the field, while DEI GRATIA REX continues around the right. The date 1826 appears in the exergue below the truncation. The portrait is finely engraved with attention to facial detail and the coin features a beaded inner border.

ET HIER. runs along the outer border, abbreviated from Regni Utriusque Siciliae et Hierusalem, asserting the dynastic claim to the Two Sicilies and Jerusalem. A beaded inner border frames the design.
