| Obverse description | Bare-headed right-facing effigy of King Ferdinando II, with naturalistically rendered curly hair and a short beard, the bust truncated at the shoulder. The portrait is executed in the neoclassical style characteristic of Neapolitan coinage of the period. The circular Latin legend reads FERDINANDVS II. DEI GRATIA REX. around the periphery, with the mint year inscribed at the base of the bust below the truncation. A fine dentilated border frames the design. |
