| Obverse description | The obverse displays the national arms of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the central field: a leopard's head facing front, flanked by two crossed items — an elephant tusk and a spear — set upon a pedestal bearing the motto PAIX. The motto scrolls JUSTICE and TRAVAIL appear on the left and right arms of the emblem respectively. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE DEMOCRATIQUE DU CONGO runs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 20 FRANCS is inscribed along the lower rim. The purity and weight designation 1 oz Ag 999.9 appears in the lower field between the arms and the denomination legend. The design is rendered in proof finish with a beaded border. |
