The Suchomimus, a spinosaurid theropod unearthed in Niger's Ténéré Desert by Paul Sereno's team in 1997, was notable at discovery for possessing over 100 teeth and forelimbs powerful enough to suggest active fishing behavior — a hypothesis since supported by isotopic analysis of related spinosaurids. The DRC has issued no meaningful circulating coinage in decades; its numismatic program exists almost entirely as a revenue vehicle, licensing exotic subjects to foreign minting houses for collector markets.
KM#406 places this among a long run of DRC wildlife and prehistoric issues with no domestic circulation whatsoever.
