| Obverse description | Bare-headed right-facing effigy of Rainier III, Prince of Monaco, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair swept back in parallel waves. The portrait is youthful and formal in character, consistent with the early years of his reign. The engraver's signature P. TURIN appears in small lettering below the bust, and the date 1950 is inscribed in the lower exergue. The circular legend RAINIER III PRINCE DE MONACO runs along the beaded inner border of the field. |

| Reverse description | The reverse displays the crowned coat of arms of Monaco at center, featuring the traditional lozenge (fusilly) shield in gold and red, surmounted by an elaborate princely crown. The large denomination numerals '20' appear to the left and the abbreviation 'FRS' to the right of the shield, while the word 'ESSAI' is inscribed in small lettering below the shield. The Monegasque dynastic motto DEO JUVANTE (With God's Help) is arced along the lower portion of the field within a beaded border. |
