The Democratic Republic of the Congo has issued collector coins under its own authority since the late 1990s, frequently licensing designs to European minting houses — this piece was almost certainly produced by a private mint operating under contract rather than by any domestic facility. The DRC maintains no meaningful silver minting infrastructure of its own.
Pteranodon itself went extinct roughly 66 million years ago and was not a dinosaur but a pterosaur, a distinction paleontologists have spent decades trying to communicate to the broader public without much success.
