Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Napoleon I facing left, modeled in high relief with finely detailed hair rendered in short curls. The truncation of the neck is signed by the engraver Droz. The circular legend NAPOLEON EMPEREUR. arcs around the periphery, flanked by a continuous border of fine beads. The portrait is executed in a restrained neoclassical style consistent with the early Imperial coinage.

Reverse description Central field displays the denomination 20 FRANCS. in two lines within a wreath of laurel branches tied at the base with a ribbon bow. The date 1807 appears in the exergue below the wreath, with the mint mark A to the right.
