正面描述 Designed by Jean-Luc Maréchal and engraved by Jean-Pierre Réthoré, the obverse presents a striking view of Mont Saint Michel, the iconic tidal island abbey of Normandy, depicted in the upper half of the field. The architectural silhouette of the mount is mirrored in a reflection upon the sea in the lower half, creating a symmetrical composition bisected by the horizon line. The national legend REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin characters.

附加信息

The Mont Saint Michel 20 Francs series ran from 1992 to 2001 as a circulation issue, but the trimetallic gold version was a deliberate collector's piece produced in small quantities — an entirely separate beast from the base-metal coins French citizens were actually spending. France had experimented with bimetallic coinage since the 10 Francs Génie of 1988, and the trimetallic format here pushed that engineering further, requiring precise pressure tolerances to bond three distinct gold alloys without separation at the joins.

KM#1008.2b is the rarer of the catalogued gold variants. Mintage figures for this specific composition were extremely limited.
