The surrounding field is filled with dense cursive Arabic calligraphic inscriptions, including the denomination legend ٢٠ فرنك and the word فرنكات, while the Latin inscription 20 FRANCS and ESSAI appear within the legend band. An elaborate geometric border of interlocking diamond-shaped motifs runs along the outer rim, further emphasizing the refined Hispano-Moorish artistic character of this essai piece. |
