| Obverse description | Central field dominated by an elaborate interlaced geometric star motif in the Moorish tradition, featuring layered arabesque scrollwork radiating outward from a central cartouche bearing the Hijri date ١٣٤٧ (1347 AH) in Eastern Arabic numerals. The geometric star pattern is enclosed within a circular border, itself surrounded by a broad band of flowing cursive Arabic calligraphy reading الإمبراطورية الشريفة. The Latin legend EMPIRE CHERIFIEN arcs along the upper periphery, with small floral ornaments serving as separators. The overall design reflects the ornate North African decorative arts style characteristic of the Alaoui dynasty coinage. |
