Obverse description Draped and uniformed bust of Louis XVIII facing right, the hair dressed and tied with a ribbon falling onto the neck, with the cordon of the Ordre du Saint-Esprit visible across the chest. The effigy is rendered in a refined neoclassical style characteristic of the Restoration period. The encircling legend reads LOUIS XVIII ROI DE FRANCE, terminating with a period, and runs along the inner border of the coin.
