Obverse description Central device features the Swiss coat of arms — a heraldic shield bearing a plain cross on a vertically lined field — flanked on the left by a sprig of edelweiss and on the right by an oak branch, both rendered in high relief. The legend HELVETIA arcs along the upper periphery in widely spaced capital letters. The denomination 20 F. appears in the lower field beneath the shield. The design is contained within a fine beaded border running the full circumference of the coin.
