| Obverse description | Laureate and bearded effigy of Emperor Francis Joseph I facing right, his hair bound with a laurel wreath tied at the nape with a ribbon. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail to the hair, beard, and sideburns, in the classical academic style engraved by Josef Tautenhayn. The circular legend in Hungarian reads FERENCZ JÓZSEF I · K · A · CS · ÉS · M · H · S · D · O · AP · KIR · surrounding the bust, with the Kremnitz mint mark K·B· positioned in the lower exergue. The whole is enclosed within a beaded border. |
