Obverse description Central design features the Hashemite royal crown above a circular wreath of wheat ears enclosing the denomination numeral '٢٠' (20) in Arabic-Indic numerals, with the Hijri year '١٣٦٨' (1368) above and the Christian year '١٩٤٩' (1949) below within the wreath. The legend 'عشرون فلساً' (Twenty Fils) appears below the numeral inside the wreath. Flanking the central device on either side are ornate Arabic inscriptions reading 'المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية' (The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan), with a six-pointed star on each side at the top. The coin is bordered by a continuous reeded rim.
