| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents a detailed isometric aerial view of the historic abbey complex of Corvey, rendered in fine relief against a polished field. The imposing Carolingian westwork of the abbey church dominates the centre foreground, its twin towers surmounted by crosses, with the broader monastic precinct — including ancillary buildings, courtyards, and trees — extending to the left and right in an architecturally precise composition. Two small human figures stand before the main entrance portal, providing a sense of scale. The legend 1200 JAHRE arcs across the upper field, while KLOSTER CORVEY is inscribed in bold letters along the lower periphery. The engraver's mark (KP monogram) appears in the lower field. |
