| Obverse description | Central field displays the Spanish coat of arms in high relief, replicating the design of the original 1 Peseta coin issued under Juan Carlos I. The shield is flanked by the Pillars of Hercules and surmounted by the royal crown. An inner beaded border frames the central device, while the outer legend reads ESPAÑA 2017 along the upper arc and 20 EURO along the lower arc.
