Gaisce — the Irish word for "feat" or "achievement" — is the name of Ireland's national challenge award programme, established in 1985 under the patronage of the President of Ireland and modelled loosely on the Duke of Edinburgh's Award. This coin was issued to mark the programme's 25th anniversary.
