| 背面描述 | The reverse depicts Saint Anthony of Padua in his youthful aspect, shown as a Franciscan friar holding the Christ Child in his arms and a lily stem in his hand, both traditional iconographic attributes of the saint. The composition references the interior of the Pontifical Basilica of Saint Anthony in Padua, the coin's thematic subject. The denomination 20 EURO and the mint mark R appear to the left, while CITTA DEL VATICANO is inscribed as the issuing authority. The overall design is executed in a refined relief style consistent with Vatican commemorative coinage. |

This coin was issued to mark the 750th anniversary of the completion of the Basilica of Sant'Antonio in Padua, consecrated in 1310 but substantially finished by the late 13th century after roughly 70 years of construction following Anthony's canonization in 1232 — just 352 days after his death, one of the fastest canonizations in Church history. The Vatican's annual gold program for this year was notably modest in mintage, with most issues in this series capped at 1,500 pieces.
