| Obverse description | The papal coat of arms of Pope Benedict XVI occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield with the Moor's head and the bear of the House of Ratzinger, surmounted by the papal tiara and flanked by the crossed keys of Saint Peter. The engravers' signatures 'D. LONGO' and 'L. DE SIMONI INC' appear in the lower portion of the field. The surrounding legend, rendered in incuse Roman capitals, reads 'BENEDICTVS PP. XVI A. D. MMXIII' and runs along the inner border of the coin. |
