Numex j.d.o.o. is a Croatian novelty and educational currency producer based in Kastav, near Rijeka. The "Numex" series — of which this is a 20-unit piece — is produced domestically as a collector or promotional item, not legal tender in any jurisdiction. Croatia adopted the euro in January 2023, which almost certainly explains the timing; novelty euro-denominated pieces flooded the local market that year as souvenir and gift items tied to the transition.

Printed on paper rather than the polymer or cotton-linen composite of genuine euro notes, it would not survive standard central bank authentication tests.
