Obverse description The obverse features a detailed depiction of the Schloss Belvedere (Belvedere Palace) in Vienna, rendered in fine relief with its characteristic Baroque facade and flanking wings prominently displayed. The ornate roofline sculptures and rusticated stonework of the palace are rendered with considerable artistic detail. The denomination numeral '20' appears in the lower central field, superimposed over the architectural motif, with the mint year inscribed below in the exergue. The legend 'EURO CENT' arcs along the upper periphery, flanked on either side by a ring of twelve stars representing the member states of the European Union. The entire composition is the work of engraver Josef Kaiser.
