Reverse description The reverse displays the common European Union design for the 20 euro cent denomination, featuring a relief map of Europe to the left of centre, with lines extending into the field to indicate non-member states. Twelve stars of the European Union are arranged in an arc in the upper left, framing the map. The large numeral '20' dominates the right portion of the field in bold relief, with the inscription 'EURO CENT' in two lines below. The engraver's initials 'LL' (Luc Luycx) appear discreetly to the lower right of the denomination.

Additional information

Slovenia adopted the euro on 1 January 2007, becoming the first former Yugoslav republic and the first post-communist transition economy to do so. The "2nd map" reverse — introduced across the eurozone in 2007 to replace the original Europa-only design with one showing the full EU geography — arrived in Slovenia's case simultaneously with its first euro coins, meaning the country never issued the 1st map type at all.
