Reverse description Printed primarily in purple with multicolour guilloche underprint. On the left, an oval intaglio vignette presents the Banco de Portugal allegorical seal — a seated female figure gesturing toward a rising sun over the sea, a sailing vessel in the background, encircled by the inscription BANCO DE PORTUGAL. A large central rosette guilloche panel carries the denomination legend in bold intaglio lettering, flanked on the right by a blank white panel reserved for the watermark. Denomination numerals "20" appear in each corner.
