Obverse description Central design features the colonial coat of arms of Angola, comprising a divided shield with the Portuguese quinas (five escutcheons) on the left and the Angolan arms bearing an elephant and a horse on the right, the whole superimposed on a Portuguese armillary sphere rendered in low relief. Above the shield, a mural crown of five towers surmounts the composition. The legend ANGOLA arcs across the upper field, while the denomination 20$00 is inscribed along the lower field, flanked on either side by decorative floral ornaments. A beaded border runs along the coin's rim.
