| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central view of the iconic landmarks of Clisson depicting the medieval keep of the Château de Clisson to the left, the stone bridge spanning the river in the foreground, and the Romanesque church of Saint-Gilles rising prominently in the middle ground, with a stylised tree in the right field. Twelve stars arranged in an arc encircle the upper portion of the field, referencing the European Union. The Vallée de Clisson scrip issues of 1995 belong to a brief wave of French local currency tokens produced in the 1990s under the banner of regional tourism promotion — legal in France provided they did not purport to substitute for the franc in ordinary commerce. Clisson itself is an anomaly in the Loire-Atlantique: a small town rebuilt in Italian neoclassical style after its near-total destruction during the Vendée Wars, specifically the Republican reprisals of 1794 that left the region largely depopulated.
The .900 silver specification places this firmly in souvenir medal territory rather than genuine circulation issue.
