| 正面描述 | The crowned Finnish heraldic lion rampant, brandishing a sword in its right forepaw and trampling a sabre beneath its left hindpaw, is depicted in high relief at the center of the field, seated upon a stylised stone plinth. A ring of twelve five-pointed stars encircles the central device, referencing the European Community. The legend FINLAND SUOMI arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 20 ECU is inscribed along the lower rim. |

Finland joined the ECU commemorative program late, and this 1997 issue was among the final wave of such pieces struck before the euro's 1999 arrival effectively ended the series. The ECU itself was never legal tender in Finland — the country had only joined the EU in 1995 — making these coins collector-only artifacts from the moment of striking.
The Mint of Finland had a well-established reputation for high-quality commemorative production, and aurora-themed issues have historically performed well on the secondary market among Scandinavian collectors.
