Obverse description The arms of Lucerne displayed on an asymmetrical baroque shield with elaborate scrollwork, supported by two woodwoses (wild men) adorned with wreaths about their heads and waists. The dexter supporter stands facing sinister, wielding a sword in his right hand while raising a crown above the shield with his left; the sinister supporter is seated, holding a palm frond in his right hand and resting his head upon his left. A laurel branch rises behind the sinister supporter, and ornamental cartouche scrollwork fills the lower field. The date 1745 and the engraver's initials I·B· appear within the circumscribed legend.
