Greece's 1940 pattern issues were struck as the Metaxas regime prepared a new coinage series — work that the Italian invasion of October 1940 abruptly terminated. Very few patterns from this program reached completion, and fewer still survived the occupation years intact. KM#Pn60 is among the rarest documented pieces from the series, with confirmed examples numbering in the single digits.
