Obverse description The national coat of arms of Liberia is prominently featured in the central field, depicting a sailing ship at sea, a palm tree, a dove in flight, and a rising sun, all enclosed within a decorative shield. The date 1998 is divided on either side of the arms. The outer legend reads REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA at top and THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE along a secondary arc. The denomination 20 DOLLARS appears in the lower field, flanked by ONE OUNCE to the left and FINE SILVER to the right. A beaded inner border frames the design.
