| Popis líce | The arms of Singapore appear centrally, depicting the lion and tiger supporters flanking a shield charged with a crescent and five stars, surmounted by a lion passant. The national name is inscribed in four official languages — English, Malay, Tamil, and Chinese — surrounding the emblem. The date of issue appears beneath the central device within the field. |

Singapore's Lunar New Year collector series has been issued annually since the mid-1980s, making the 2018 dog issue one entry in a long-running program that predates many comparable offerings from larger mints. The series was among the first government-backed lunar coinage programs in Southeast Asia, and Singapore's issues have historically commanded stronger secondary-market premiums than mintage figures alone would predict — a function of concentrated regional demand from collectors in Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.
