Pick 49 is the standard 2006 paper series note, but "without black bars" flags a specific printing variety — the black registration bars normally appearing on the reverse were omitted on some sheets during production at De La Rue's facility. Whether this originated as a printing skip or a deliberate plate modification for a print run subset has never been officially confirmed by the Central Bank.
Varieties of this kind rarely surface in quantity, which suggests the omission was caught and corrected relatively quickly in production.
