| 正面描述 | The national coat of arms of Liberia is depicted centrally, featuring a sailing ship on the sea, a palm tree, a rising sun, a dove in flight, and a cannon in the foreground, all within a shield surmounted by a scroll bearing the national motto. The date 2002 is divided across the lower field, with '20' to the left and '02' to the right of the arms. The circular legend 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA' arcs along the upper periphery, while a second legend 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA' appears on a ribbon scroll at the base of the arms, and the motto 'THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE' is inscribed on the banner across the top of the shield. |

Willem Drees served as Dutch Prime Minister from 1948 to 1958 and built the Netherlands' postwar welfare state, including the 1957 AOW general old-age pension law that became his defining achievement. By 2002 he had been dead for over a decade, and the Netherlands itself issued no commemorative for him that year. The coin belongs to Liberia's sprawling series of foreign-leader commemoratives — issues with no meaningful connection to the issuing nation, produced almost entirely for the international collector market.
