| Obverse description | The national Coat of Arms of Liberia is centrally depicted, featuring a sailing ship at sea, a palm tree, and a rising sun over the shoreline, with a dove in flight above and a scroll bearing the national motto at the base. The date 2004 is divided by the arms, with '20' to the left and '04' to the right in the field. The outer legend 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA' arcs along the upper periphery, while a secondary legend 'THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE' curves along the inner upper portion of the design. A second inscription 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA' appears on the scroll at the base of the arms. The entire design is struck in proof finish with a fine dentilated border. |
