Obverse description Central design features a stylised Oglala Lakota Sioux ceremonial mandala, composed of radiating figures, arrows, and a central starburst motif enclosed within a circular border adorned with Native American geometric patterning. Four eagle feathers are positioned at cardinal points around the inner circle, evoking traditional Lakota iconography. At the bottom of the inner field, the arms of the Republic of Liberia are depicted within a small heraldic shield. The upper legend reads OGLALA LAKOTA SIOUX NATION, while the denomination 20 DOLLARS appears to the right, all within a decorative outer rim bearing diamond and triangular motifs.

Additional information

Liberia has issued gold miniatures under the "Protection and Defence" series in bulk quantities destined almost entirely for the souvenir and novelty market rather than circulation. At 0.5 g, the actual gold content is negligible — roughly a thirtieth of a troy ounce — and the KM reference confirms it sits within a sprawling catalog of small-denomination Liberian issues that have little to do with the country's domestic monetary policy.
