| Obverse description | The arms of the Republic of Liberia occupy the central field, depicting a shield charged with a sailing ship, a plough, and a spade beneath a palm tree, surmounted by a dove in flight and flanked by scrollwork. The motto ribbon bearing THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE arcs across the upper portion of the shield. The date 1992 is split on either side of the arms, and the denomination 20 DOLLARS appears in the exergue, accompanied by the fineness mark 999.9 and the gold designation Au. The outer legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA runs along the upper periphery within a beaded border. |
