| 裏面の説明 | The reverse bears a highly detailed high-relief sculptural portrait of Moses, closely derived from Michelangelo Buonarroti's celebrated marble statue (c. 1513–1515), rendered in three-quarter seated view with a long, flowing beard, powerfully muscular arms resting upon his lap, and two horn-like rays of light projecting from his head in accordance with the traditional iconographic convention. The central figure rises dramatically from a deeply recessed, mirror-polished black field, achieving a pronounced chiaroscuro effect that accentuates the sculptural depth and surface modelling. The surrounding border is elaborately engraved with acanthus scrollwork, while a cartouche at the base bears the Roman numeral date MMXXII. The inscriptions ETERNAL SCULPTURES II and MOSES are positioned in the right field. |
