| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Liberia is prominently displayed at center, featuring a shield bearing a sailing ship, a palm tree, a rising sun, a dove in flight, and a plough with a spade at the base. A ribbon scroll across the shield bears the national motto. The date 2001 is split to either side of the arms in the mid-field. The legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA arcs along the upper rim, while a second inscription THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE encircles the arms on a curved banner, and REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA repeats along the lower rim on a curved ribbon.
