The motto legend THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE encircles the shield. The outer legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA appears at top and bottom, flanking the date 2003 divided across the lower field on either side of the arms. A beaded border frames the entire design.
