Obverse description The central field features the full coat of arms of the Republic of Liberia, depicting a sailing ship approaching a shore with a rising sun, a palm tree, a dove in flight, and a plough, all enclosed within a decorative shield surmounted by a scroll bearing the national motto. The date '2000' is split to either side of the shield, with '20' at left and '00' at right. The outer legend 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA' arcs along the upper rim, while the denomination '20 DOLLARS' appears in the lower field. A toothed border encircles the entire design.
