| Additional information |
Liberia's Central Bank issued a substantial run of commemorative silver pieces through the late 1990s and early 2000s targeting the collector market almost exclusively — few if any circulated domestically. This piece marks the January 2001 inauguration following one of the most legally contested elections in American history, resolved only when the Supreme Court halted the Florida recount in Bush v. Gore, 36 days after election night.
