Obverse description Selective gold-plated right-facing bust of King George V wearing the Imperial State Crown and robes of state, rendered in the classic effigy design by Sir E.B. MacKennal, set against a deeply mirrored proof field. The legend GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: REX ET IND: IMP curves along the upper periphery between an inner beaded border and the outer rim, while the denomination 20 DOLLARS appears in the lower exergual area. The engraver's initials B.M. are visible on the truncation of the bust. The gold-plated finish of the effigy contrasts sharply with the polished silver field, lending a striking two-tone appearance characteristic of this commemorative series.
