Below the effigy, the dual dates "1952" and "2022" flank a row of four pearls, symbolising the four successive royal effigies that appeared on Canadian coinage throughout Her Majesty's reign. The face value "20 DOLLARS" and the issue year "2023" are inscribed in the field, with the initials "SB" identifying the sculptor. | Reversbeschreibung | The reverse features Walter Ott's iconic sugar maple leaf design, faithfully reproduced from the original 1988 Silver Maple Leaf bullion coin and here rendered for the first time using Super Incuse technology, achieving a sculpted relief depth of 1.5 millimetres. The large, detailed maple leaf dominates the central field, struck with a modified reverse proof finish that accentuates its brilliant relief against a frosted background. The legend "CANADA" arcs above, while the inscriptions "9999 FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PUR" and the fineness designation "9999" appear in the field, attesting to the coin's .9999 fine silver content. The overall composition is austere and monumental, emphasising the sculptural depth achieved through the Super Incuse striking technique. |
