Obverse description Effigy of Queen Elizabeth II at approximately 77 years of age, bare-headed, wearing a necklace and earrings, facing right, as designed by Susan Taylor. The portrait is accompanied by a special commemorative marking consisting of the dual regnal dates '1952' and '2022' separated by four pearls, symbolising the four successive royal effigies that have appeared on Canadian coinage throughout Her Majesty's reign. The legend encircles the effigy and includes the denomination and country name in the field. The design reflects the final portrait of Elizabeth II used on Canadian coins.
