Canada's "Celebrate Love" series occupies a corner of the RCM's modern bullion-adjacent commemorative program where selective gold plating is applied via electrochemical deposition to isolate specific design elements against a matte or proof silver field. The technique became increasingly refined in RCM production through the 2010s and into the 2020s.
This is also one of the final issues to carry Elizabeth II's name as issuer — she died in September 2022, and coins bearing her name continued into 2023 only where production and authorization had already been committed.
