Obverse description The national coat of arms of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield depicting a rising sun above a British galleon in full sail upon the sea, supported on the dexter side by a marlin and on the sinister side by a flamingo, both rampant. Above the shield rises a conch shell atop which is placed a helmet surmounted by a hand grasping three palm fronds. A scroll beneath the supporters carries the national motto in three registers: FORWARD, UPWARD ONWARD, and TOGETHER. The circular legend COMMONWEALTH OF THE BAHAMAS arcs along the upper periphery, while the date 1994 appears in stylised numerals at the base of the field.

Reverse description A panoramic golf course scene is engraved across the central field, divided vertically by a tall flag pin extending from the putting green in the lower foreground to the upper rim. In the upper left, a golfer in mid-swing stance is depicted at a tee, set against a landscape of undulating fairway, a water hazard to the left rendered in horizontal striations, and a sand bunker to the right. A golf ball rests on the green immediately beside the cup, the hole depicted as a dark oval at the base of the pin. The curved legend HOLE IN ONE arcs along the upper right periphery, while the denomination 20 DOLLARS is inscribed along the lower right rim. The purity and metal designation .9999 Au appears at the lower left of the field.
