| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse features the coat of arms of the Republic of Palau at center, depicting a traditional Palauan scene within a shield surmounted by a native canoe, flanked by decorative supporters and bearing the inscription RAINBOW'S END in the lower portion of the shield. The denomination 20$ appears below the arms in the inner field. The legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU arcs above the central device, accompanied by a ring of eight stars. The entire inner design is surrounded by a broad textured border rendered in an intricate micromosaic pattern. The series name GREAT MICROMOSAIC PASSION and the mintmark GMP appear within the mosaic border in raised lettering. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse is entirely covered with a finely executed micromosaic rendition of Johannes Vermeer's celebrated painting 'Girl with a Pearl Earring' (c. 1665), reproduced in full color using thousands of individually set tesserae-style elements against a dark background. The subject is depicted in three-quarter view, her gaze directed over her left shoulder, wearing a blue and gold head wrap and a luminous pearl drop earring at her left ear. The composition faithfully replicates the chiaroscuro lighting and intimate character of the original Dutch Golden Age masterpiece. The Roman numeral date MMXIX appears discreetly in the right field of the design. |
