Gabriel Lippmann won the 1908 Nobel Prize in Physics for his method of reproducing colors photographically using the interference phenomenon — the first workable color photography process, predating Kodak's commercial solutions by decades. Liberia's Central Bank issued a long-running series of Nobel laureate coins throughout the 2000s, largely marketed to the collector trade rather than domestic circulation. Most saw negligible handling.
